I have three surgeries ahead of me, in mid-December, and I am currently self-destructing from the stress of it all. Any and all advice on how to focus on the last few weeks of school ahead of my (only slightly exaggerated) doom would be greatly appreciated.

This whole "let's catch the bus in the morning instead of driving in" idea is letting me get caught up on my reading and relax and wake up in the morning, while still getting to school on time. Very ok with this.

I spent the entire day in Baltimore yesterday and my (exhausted) queer soul is refreshed and revived. Got some summer reading to inform my studies while I'm in DC. Very excited for these.

Feels like a major decision to continue French in the Fall, because it is, what with starting a PhD program, but I'll be going as an auditor only. That will give me significant flexibility.

I was admitted to my school's PhD program today, in my field of study, #Economics. I have been absolutely overwhelmed with emotion and frankly at a loss for words. Suffice to say, today marks the culmination of years work, and the beginning of years more, and I am so, so grateful for this. #EconSky

Something I've been developing while in graduate school is a program that will take my recorded lectures, as .mp3s, transcribe them, summarize them, and return them to me as text files for further analysis. As of today, I'm thrilled to say, It Works. My classmates will be thrilled. LOL

A remarkable consequence of recording a video journal entry of myself is that...my brain doesn’t know the difference between “me” and “that person on the monitor who’s having a hard time.” And I find myself responding to myself with the same grace and kindness I would give anyone else.
