Is the biggest wave of nuclear proliferation in human history in the room with us?
Berthold Kohler in FAZ: “A credible nuclear deterrence, however, is indispensable for Germany’s security. In Berlin, therefore, consideration must also be given to our own nuclear armament.” Trump is triggering the biggest wave of nuclear proliferation in human history, and US media is clueless.

Ngl, I’m terrified of Donald trumps obsession with the Nobel peace prize. WHAT IF HE INVADES MY HOUSE???
"Donald Trump now genuinely lives in a different reality, one in which neither grammar nor history nor the normal rules of human interaction now affect him. Also, he really is maniacally, unhealthily obsessive about the Nobel Prize."

Sometimes I think about how it is still less than two years ago Sweden joined Nato and then I get embarrassed to be from a country with such incredibly bad geopolitical instinct.

In December, we polled Americans on issues around international law, and 77% of US people said that they would not support their government illegally invading another country — even if it was claimed to be in their security interest. Quite relevant these days! lexinternational.org/internationa...

Yesterday we launched Not Dead Yet, our 2025 report on the state of international law. A huge thanks to Austria, Mexico and South Africa for joining our launch event and giving your different perspectives on the narratives and challenges of international law.

Most of the work we do at Lex is quite discrete, like grant making, retreats & off the record conversations and a few different creative projects. But today we’re launching our first public report, “Not Dead Yet — International Law in an Age of Uncertainty”

Another part of Project 2025, which Trump disavowed during the campaign, that he's now carrying out.

Good morning! Seems like Trump says he wants to start nuclear testing again. We don’t quite know what he means with that, but here’s what is really important right now.

Move the UN to Geneva immediately. It has the space, facilities etc.
September 28, 2025 at 7:29 PM
The comments are so silly. basically 100 versions of “Russia knows we have nukes too!”. It’s fascinating how people just know that Russias nuclear threats won’t work but are convinced that US threats would. If Russias threats are a bluff, the US’s threats are a bluff too, you can’t have it both ways
These people have exactly one line

Every single time there's the slightest whiff that the West might commit more tangible support to Ukraine there's crowing about how dangerous this is because the Russians have nukes

For any UN or diplomacy nerds, this is fascinating about how the UNEP secretariat undermined the chair and tried to encourage NGOs to get him replaced, maybe because the text was too strong for Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries?? Cream it!

💣 An excellent analysis of the #PlasticsTreaty 's Whistledown (aka @magnuslovold.bsky.social) of what happened behind the scenes at the end of #INC5.2. Once again, important questions are raised about the role of UNEP, which seems to support a low-ambition treaty #Plastics

This weekend in Bosnia, 19 year old Mehmed was killed by a 30 year old landmine. He was tending to his family’s goats, which had wandered into a mined forest. Mehmed wasn’t a soldier. The war ended 30 years ago, 11 years before Mehmed was even born. n1info.ba/english/news...

Last week, Marseille joined ICAN Cities Appeal. The city supports the #TPNW and calls on France to join it. The French government is one of the most stubborn opponents of the TPNW, yet the 3 largest cities Paris, Marseille and Lyon (and 95 others) supports it. Allez!!
