first thing i looked at this morning was a post on r/hotdogs where everyone was saying they overwhelmingly prefer normal size hot dogs to quarter pound ones and i’ve never felt more alone/betrayed in my life. i thought these were my people. i was so wrong

a lot of people were forced to read the awakening too young to appreciate it. listening to erin discuss it in a contemporary context is really illuminating. makes me wish kate chopin had written more

because 12 albums is too much for me to expect anyone to consume, i’ve put together a record of all the best “songs” from the albums so far and i’m posting it for bandcamp friday

imagining all the various pope candidates lined up in their stalls like racehorses, being brushed and fed carrots, waiting for the main event

im in the process of finishing what will be the 12th record i’ve released since i started posting new music last november. i didn’t have any plan when i started but it’s been really nice to be creative without any restrictions, limitations or timelines from other people. highly recommended

it would be great if an amazon guy showed up on the senate floor and delivered a copy of infinite jest to cory booker right now

there’s not a ton of things to be happy about in the world but at least King Yellowman is still alive and performing his heart out
March 31, 2025 at 9:01 PM
i don’t normally go for biopics but if god provided us with an actor who could play yellowman in a movie it would be hard to resist wanting to watch that story

best of luck to whomever has to edit the nearly 2 hour Hellraiser bts interview Luke and I filmed this morning
March 21, 2025 at 9:40 PM
i’m watching Hellraiser (2022) again and i’m reminded of how much i wish the movie could have screened theatrically more. if any genre festivals can convince Hulu to let them screen it i’d be happy to come and talk or whatever, but mostly i’d just like to see it again

no one asked me but I think they should pick popes more like dog show winners, stream the whole thing live, have the different potential popes walk around and do tricks, show off their robes, that sort of thing

We lost a really wonderful person this week. Shannon Blanks was one of my oldest friends from film school and one of the most knowledgable and passionate film lovers I've ever known. We appreciate any help you can give gofund.me/c9e5031a

i didn’t grow up wanting to live in Los Angeles. i always had more attraction to new york but David Lynch’s vision of the city as surreal and beautiful place full of mystery was appealing enough that it won me over. it’s hard to imagine LA without him

I saw Inland Empire twice in the theater during its initial release and when they put it on DVD I played it on a loop for a week straight

when I turned 16 and got a license the first thing my friends and I did was use my car to drive to every video store in three counties so we could rent all of Twin Peaks on VHS. I also started drinking coffee (always black) Life-changing summer for sure
