Just a blue dot in a very red part of SW Michigan. Trying not to let loneliness and health issues tear me down, so that I can be there for all the people that won't have the protection of straight white man privilege that I have.

I found out something fascinating today, due to a @hankgreen.bsky.social video I stumbled onto on YouTube.
Any ice that forms naturally is scientifically considered a rock by geologists. So glaciers are rock formations, but the ice in your ice cube tray is not. 1/2

I once managed to draw a circle that only vaguely looked like a potato. I cannot emphasize enough how much this was a circle and NOT a potato. I don't care what Big Potato claims. That circle was my greatest artistic achievement.

Something got me thinking today about the whole "jocks vs nerds" dynamic stereotype for school that's still so popular in media, and realized I never had that. I'm in my late 40s, so high school and college was the 90s for me. 1/6

I turned on my Fire TV, and of course the first thing I see is an ad banner for content big daddy Bezos wants me to buy. It's for fishing channels, one of which is MLF. My rational mind knows that's probably Major League Fishing, but my demented mind definitely saw MILF first. 🤣

So it's been about 24 hours since I decided to start giving this app a real try. In that time I've realized that, while Meta is full of porn bots, this place is full of bots that do nothing by repost stuff. I'm honestly not sure which one annoys me more.

Also, any pro volleyball fans out there? I was so excited to find out Grand Rapids has a PVB team that I immediately got season tickets. We've only had one home game so far, and we did lose, but it was so much fun!

Part of me wonders if Musk tossing out the nazi salute was on purpose to distract his followers from noticing that Trump took the Oath of Office without his hand on the bible. I know that's not actually a requirement, but his base thinks he's a Christian.
