There's a kind of person who sneers at marvel fans for cheering whenever some glup schitto cameos in a post-credits scene but does the same when a slightly niche internet meme is referenced in a movie

I think things started going south when we stopped making movies where the villain is a rich developer hellbent on demolishing a local space to put in a mall. We were taught as youths that our greatest enemy was rich real estate freaks and the only defense was whimsical shenanigans with friends

The diorama is the great unifier. Everyone loves a good diorama. Everyone derives pleasure from seeing something in a smaller scale

I would spend a lot more money on TTRPG stuff (books, minis, terrain, etc.) if I had the assurance I would use them. It's really frustrating really wanting to GM with a budget but never having the feeling that I have a consistent gaming group
