I know other people have their own needs and opinions, but let's be honest, helix is stupid. Oh, let me just learn keybinds that don't transfer to literally anything else.

Seriously, just use neovim. It's SO configurable. Idk, I guess to some people that's a drawback rather than a feature.

Um, I just found out about Nim lang, and why tf hasn't anyone told me about this before? This shit rocks.

So, the group responsible for keeping the #Japanese translations for #Mozilla rage quit after the company created an #ai bot that broke havoc making bad translations and overriding carefully translated work with no human oversight: linuxiac.com/ai-controver... #llms
AI Controversy Forces End of Mozilla’s Japanese SUMO Community
The SUMO Japanese team quits en masse, accusing Mozilla’s AI system of erasing years of community translation work.

Okay I know it's dramatic and crotchety old men guffaw at the notion, but neovim genuinely brings me joy. I can't really articulate why, but neovim actually feels peaceful to work in. Something about wezterm+yazi+neovim, I just feel like my space is MINE. It's exactly what I want it to be. Very rare

Okay, I dont hear many people talk about it but Solus is an excellent linux distro. I was a void user for about 2 years, but I decided to try Solus out and I think this might be my main for the foreseeable future.

Hey nvim people, how would you approach setting up allman style? I'm thinking I have a few options with autocommands and conform.nvim using clang-format, but I'm also thinking maybe something with autopairs? Typing out my curly braces and moving them myself feels cumbersome. Idk, any ideas?

I feel like the neovim feed is full of people complaining about bloated plugins they don't need in the first place?

Get yourself a theme, maybe some folke plugins, and then set up your LSP and dap, and that's it. That's literally all you need. You don't need a distro, you need like 10 plugins.

Something tough about growing up conservative, and then becoming a leftist, is that all of my close friends are conservative. I'm at that point in life where I just don't make friends as often, and it makes me feel fucking crazy that nobody I know agrees with me on literally anything.

I know it's a meme to dunk on tool fans and all, but Tool genuinely kicks ass.

I could just be chronically online and hyper skeptical but does Ruri Rocks look like it's at least somewhat AI generated?

It'd not a sexy distro by any means, but I really like Solus linux. I think I'm gonna be sticking with this one for a long time

Man, Nix/NixOS is so cool on paper but none of the docs or error messages were written by normal human beings. I swear ts is just esoteric for the sake of it. "Learn our super niche DSL and overly complicated package names and you have to learn functional programming right now if you want a package

Okay Linux peeps. I'm moving at from void for a bit and I'm looking for a new distro. Split between OpenSuse tumbleweed and solus.

Eopkg seems like a nice package manager, and for missing packages, contributing to the repos seems pretty cool and similar to xbps-src templates, just in yaml.

Yeah so, RAM is dead from the looks of it, but its also the second set of ram that's died within 6 months. Thinking it might be a motherboard problem? Maybe PSU? Either way, probably looking to do an upgrade since I built my PC in 2018

Just watched Friendship with Tim Robinson and honestly going to Reddit and seeing people's takes on the movie made me feel more insane than any of the social situations Tim landed in.

Israel is a wonderful example of the importance of separation of church and state. You make any criticism of israel, and immediately you're antisemitic.

Exterminating families just like the Nazis did.

But “Charlie Kirk had a family” right?

Israel dgaf about families so why should anyone else? Right?

Got neovim set up as my main writing solution now. Render-markdown, ltex-ls for english language server, action-previews, zen mode, twilight, and image support. Feels really really good to do create writing in neovim.

Rediscovering my hate for the entire C++ ecyosystem. Great as a language, but holy hell is the entire ecosystem fragmented to hell. A million different build systems, many compilers, many toolchains, varying implementations of years old specification.

Idk if this is absolutely stupid, but I just played Silent Hill 2 for the first time and have a strong unpopular opinion and I'm now looking into creating a proof of my hypothesis using Clingo (Answer Set Programming). If anyone knows of a better solution or some solid options let me know.

I genuinely love most of the ideas surrounding rust, and all of its tooling. I just can't stand the syntax and style surrounding it. It's such a genuinely ugly language to look at.
