The football statto of BBC Sport.
Very early xG reveals! Arsenal and City are good, Spurs are on a hot streak and Utd and still far too welcoming…

How have Premier League teams really started the season?
The Premier League table is starting to take shape and while results are obviously what matter most, they don't tell the whole story.

Arsenal weirdly needed a striker like Gyokeres this summer to help create chances more than finish them.

Spurs went from being a mid-table side to title challengers in Daniel Levy's first 18 years as chairman...but it's gone a bit awry since then.

Injuries a big factor but they've taken just 46 points from their last 38 games - the fewest from a season's worth of games since 2009.

Tottenham have taken just 4 points from their last 10 Premier League games - their worst run of form for almost 31 years.

Only once across their 1,251 Premier League games have they taken fewer points in a 10-game spell, back in early 1994.

Thanks Southampton for taking the title of ‘Worst Premier League Side Ever After 20 Games’ from Sunderland (on goal difference).

Tottenham are so weird. They’ve scored the same number of goals and conceded just 1 more than at this stage last season but have 15 points fewer.

Man City are giving up by far the best chances in Europe's big 5 leagues this season, conceding 0.16 xG per shot faced (excl. penalties).
