Silver Apples are pioneers. No doubt about that. And sadly, they're not as recognized as, say, Tangerine Dream, Can or Kraftwerk. Something contemporary like Portishead's We Carry On is 100% Apples-influenced. IMHO, they've expanded their sound and reached their apex with their 2nd LP, Contact.

While I firmly believe there are better live albums in Waits' catalog (Nighthawks at the Diner, Glitter and Doom), Big Time remains a rather fun time capsule... especially the movie. With good speakers and a big screen, it's a great experience.

I Advanced Masked. Such a great album that Robert Fripp recorded with The Police's Andy Summers in 1982, shortly after the release of Ghost in the Machine. It's textured, layered, dreamy, richly atmospheric and evocative. Quite an underrated gem. Highly recommended.
