Some pics from our last day here! Had breakfast at Waffle House and went to an apple festival (we got to ride on a school bus to get there from the parking lot!) The apple dumplings there were sooooo tasty🥰

On the way back we also made a stop at Buc-ee's which is basically a a mix of giant gas station, retail store and food court. It's so hard to describe, like I have never seen this much merch of a random company's mascot. Very fun though, definitely wanna visit that again.

Yesterday we did another bigger daytrip to Tennessee where we visited a really cool cave in a mountain with an underground waterfall!

We visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta today, lots of good and inspiring stuff there (but now I wanna draw myselg again so bad!)

Yesterday we visited a place called Stone Mountain, basically a gigantic rocl made of granite that you can get up to with a cablecar. It has a huge carving of some confederate leaders on its side (boooo), but the views from the top are amazing (yay!).You even can see Atlanta in the distance!

We qent up into the Appalachian Mountains yesterday and visited an incredibly beautiful waterfall!

We're in Georgia now and went down to the Georgia Stafe Fair! I got to try a corndog, a deep fried snickers bar and some funnel cake - truly as American as it gets.

Our last full day in D.C.! We started at the Jefferson Moniment and met a white squirrel at the National Mall!

Yesterday we spent almost the entire day at the Natural History Museum and man, it's such a fantastic place. Both the exhibits and the building itself were gorgeous!

Finally going on a bigger trip again, at the moment we are spending a couple days in Washington D.C.! For the first day we mostly walked around the National Mall to look at all the big monuments and buildings there.

Weather was super nice today (temperatures like in summer!), so I decided to do a little daytrip to my old uni town of Regensburg!

Little thread about an absolutely wonderful daytrip we did this weekend to lake Chiemsee near the Alps! When you arrive by train, you get to ride a little train from 1887 down to the lake and we were lucky enough to board the historic paddlewheeler to cross the lake! 1/5

Before and after Dokomi we also did some daytrips, like to the Cologne Zoo!....where they had a ton of dinosaurs in and around the animal enclosures 😂 It was great though, the models were really good, moved and made sounds plus some of them were truly MASSIVE

Did some miniature painting again this week! Instead of the "normal" dinos I actually painted two 19th century versions of Megalosaurus and Iguanodon based on the Crystal Palace statues (with the up to date versions of each dinosaur for comparison). Also painted the tiny pinecone friend Stegouros!

Feeling extremely accomplished atm for fixing the flushing mechanism in the toilet all by myself. Is this the sort of level up you get from being married?

The most amazing day however was when we went to a bird of prey flight show within the grounds of an medieval castle!

We also visited Regensburf, my old university town, which honestly is always qorth a trip. I never can get enough of its gothic cathedral 😍😍😍

Besides the wedding last qeek we also did lots of daytrips with friends and family! First stop was Salzburg, the qeather was pretty overcast, but the city and the moutains were still absolutely beautiful!

Did a little daytrip today and visited the Mammoth Museum in Siegsdorf near the Alps! Lots of great ice age fossils and models there!

Hey, remember that Carnotautus skull model I mentioned in this years hourly comics? It finally arrived and holy moly, it's BIG. Didn't expect 1:5 scale to be so much bigger than the 1:8 ones I already have!
I love it so much, plus they added a little rhamphorynchus skull magnet as a gift! 😍😍😍

On that note, my dinosaur model collection recently got a new home on the shelfs of our new living room furniture! Now I can display them together with my small fossil collection, too!
