Amazing to connect notes in a soldier's notebook to documents in the archives. Below photos of Bertil's notes from October 26th, 1915, and the notes from the unit diary of the 13th Canadian Infantry Battalion, from the same date.

Actually the first time I visited this memorial in the rain and thunder, you could almost close your eyes, and imagine the roar of the grenades and explosions, of course on a much larger scale. 🙏 #greatwargroup

Reading old newspapers from the Great War era about journalists who met the Swedish soldiers on the battlefields is very interesting and give some answers to different thoughts. Read my article through the link below 👇

One of the most wonderful things within my research is when I receive additional photos from the relatives which makes the story about who the soldiers were much deeper. It looks like he was a proud Swede who sacrificed his life for the Canadian troops. May Bertil Albert Lindh rest in peace. 🙏

Amazing Swedish history connected to Swedish emigration to the USA 😊 The Blomberg brothers in Austin, Texas. They and their parents never went to Sweden, but are speaking Swedish with the old dialect from the late 1800s. 🇸🇪🇺🇲 English subtitles.
