If it does not stop raining soon, it’s going to harsh my damn mellow. There are not enough meds in the world for this lack of light IN MAY.

And this will surprise no one who knows me…

I. HATE. PACKING. FOR
RITES OF SPRING.

That is all citizens.
Carry on.

If you haven’t read this yet, you’ll want to.
It is paving the way toward Martial law, and immunity for police officers that commit crimes under color of authority. 🪡🧵

Well, the wee garden is under way for the year. Some raised beds are tilled and fertilized with composted cow poo, and covered, awaiting plants. 🪴 Others got the same treatment, but are now holding lettuce, spinach, kale, shallots, and dill. The season of growing has officially begun! Yay!

In case you were wondering, this is what women astronauts look like. People who studied & trained to bring information back from space for the benefit of humanity. Heroines like Christa McAuliffe. Not some spoiled oligarch’s glorified 13 minute bachelorette billed as a, “huge moment for women.”🙄

Just going to float something here.

I think JD “I wear jeans when I ski” Vance and Commander Fred Waterford from Handmaid’s Tale are the same dude.

I have never once seen them in the same place at the same time.

Discuss amongst yourselves.

F DONALD TRUMP.

This is unconscionable and unconstitutional.
Deporting people seeking asylum from tyranny is inhumane enough, deporting people who were born here because they dissent? Well, that is as fascist as fascist gets.

Just a fair warning that if you roll up to me and say, “Deus Vult,” in any context, it’s going to earn you a punch in the junk.

I’m a bit salty about this between the House passing the SAVE Act (with the help of 4 Democrats) today, and Christofascist White Nationalist lunatics like this:

Just for balance with my storm of political comments lately, I have been making mixed media art. Lots of it.

Majorie Taylor Greene has all the hallmarks of that girl in school who would do or say anything to be popular. She keeps voting for the pain and suffering of others, thinking it will never touch her because she is “special & protected.” 🪡🧵

Please don’t turn a blind eye. This isn’t who we are.

Imagine if this were you, or your child.

Talk about it.
Keep calling your representatives.

These abuses will not stop until we protest & resist.

Do not comply ahead of time. Executive Orders are not laws.

Everyone is entitled to due process under the law, and according to our Constitution.

Everyone.
If they don’t have that right, it is also being stripped from *you.*

This is not for individual politicians to decide. They are not above the law.

This is fascism.

Indiana Rep Spartz (R): “You violated the law, you are not entitled to due process.”

Dangerously ignorant. 🇺🇸

Tesla paid 0 taxes last year. None.

Yet DOGE feels that it is only financially responsible to cut food bank funding. Food bank funding… you know, for folks who are starving?!?
Including in Flint, Michigan.

Billionaires protect their money, not you.

Resist.

Up late thinking how beautiful our world is, and how fragile. How tenuous our connection to each other and to what really makes our country great.

It’s hard to sleep tonight. My country is in crisis, the world is in upheaval. People are frightened. And yet there is also beauty, laughter, work…🧵🪡

Now is that time of early spring where I want to dig in the dirt and plan my garden, make all the art and upcycled clothing, and simultaneously traipse off to a magical woodland circus to be a wild thing.

I want to read books created by real people, not AI horseshit.

HarperCollins offered their authors a deal: $2,500 for the right to use their books to train AI. This is gross on so many levels, not the least of which is offering an obscenely tiny amount of money to train something TO REPLACE YOU.
HarperCollins is selling their authors’ work to AI tech.
On Friday, author Daniel Kibblesmith posted a series of screenshots on Bluesky in order to share a concerning email he received from the agency who’d repped him on his children’s book S…

Doing some herb work this late afternoon into the gloaming with wee green friends that I grew with my own hands.

It’s very satisfying and peaceful to love the land and my home in this way.

And my hands smell *delicious*.

All I want to do is make art, wear snuggly sweaters, & drink tea under fuzzy blankets with my cat. Maybe take a walk in the woods in the sun, or see friends who also want to make art & read books. My nervous system is already done with this BS, and it’s not even January.

Art retreat anybody?

Please bear with me while this fox in a trenchcoat (yes, that is a pile of seedpods, feathers and sticks in my pockets, thank-you-for-noticing) tries to use her paint brush and snoot to figure out this whole new Bluesky thing.
