#cfc the central issue the fans face at Chelsea is this: we have half a dozen players you can say “how good might they be in 3 or 4 years?” But we are not used to waiting. Some of us waited 30 odd years, but now we don’t have the patience. 3 years is too long.

@socobhampod.bsky.social I’m trying to think of the right adjective for Chelsea’s defence this season. Words that come to mind: shambolic, naive, uncommitted, juvenile, disjointed, rudderless, unauthorative… unless some kind of system can be found we won’t make top 4

With some days to reflect on Saturday night, looking at the coaches game management, I think it’s not an unfair comparison to consider Ranieri’s last CL game in charge for Chelsea. The semi in Monaco where Rob Huth ended up playing as striker and Ranieri completely lost it. Am I being unfair?

With some days to reflect on Saturday night, looking at the coaches game management, I think it’s not an unfair comparison to consider Ranieri’s last CL game in charge for Chelsea. The semi in Monaco where Rob Huth ended up playing as striker and Ranieri completely lost it. Am I being unfair?
When I saw the sending off my first reaction was “you fucking idiot”. Nothing I saw subsequently did anything to alter that first impression.

What’s the general vibe around next season? The last time I was this excited about the was post the ECLwin in 2021. Obviously things really didn’t work out the way we’d hoped but there were extenuating circumstances. I’m very optimistic and excited. Let’s pray it’s not the hope that kills you!

Well what a turn up. I never thought I’d end up caring about the club World Cup but turns out I do. impressive tonight. Dominated. Jao Pedro looks a good fit. The whole side looks more cohesive. And that’s before we consider Estavao. At this stage I’m highly optimistic but it’s the hope that kills…

@lewisgoodall.com next month it’s 25 years since big brother first appeared on UK tv. I wonder what the producers make of the fact that this program has driven a cultural movement that has ultimately led to the most important country in the world being run like as a reality TV show.

#cfc season grade: B - expectations met. A season that at times promised a lot ultimately delivered the minimum expectations. There are plenty of positives however. Return to fitness or James. Caicedo developing into a world class talent. Colwill looks like being a generation centre half.

To have spent a billion pounds and ended up without having a genuine striker available could be misfortune. To spend a billion quid and have no striker and no recognised keeper is down right carelessness.
