Hello! Yes there is some books like that. My 6 years old daughter is actually reading some books like that.

I know Auzou published some in french. Maybe there is some in english too?

I think kids engage more when they feel part of the story. I like to use different voices when reading to bring life to the text.

And when telling stories, I let them help:
“The bear opens the box and finds… guess what?”
“Yeah — a butterfly!”
And i weave their idea as part of the story.
