Ganzer Text: www.fr.de/meinung/gast...

My op-ed on Europe’s failure to better support Ukraine ahead of a devastating winter is now available in English.

What needs to happen now:

1️⃣ Close energy security financing gaps and build reserves of critical components and spare parts (e.g., transformers).

Aufklärungsdrohnen in der Gegend um Kyjiw sagen so ziemlich alles, was man von der sogenannten Energie-Waffenruhe halten soll, was auch immer diese begonnen haben/beendet werden soll. Neuer Beschuss kommt leider recht gleich.

Danke an @taz.de - keine Paywall.

Very much worth reading.
In the new @dissentmag.bsky.social issue, out today, @yguichaoua.bsky.social and I diagnose the crisis of conflict studies in a piece that is part intellectual history, part personal experience.

What was conflict studies for? And what can its travails tell us about how wars have changed?

Friendly reminder that if you advocate for policies that actively risk more people living under Russian occupation, you are *not* actually anti-militarist.

Why is this so difficult to understand for some?

Was soll man wissen und worauf achten?🧵

The first article and Notes from the Field from our Special Issue with @politicsgenderj.bsky.social on #feministforeignpolicy is online now! @tonihaastrup.bsky.social @columbaachilleos.bsky.social

The first Notes looks at how FFP has influenced donor funding on peacebuilding:
Feminist foreign policies talk equality, but local feminist peacebuilders still face donor scepticism, unstable funding & political pushback.

Without structural change, FFPs risk perpetuating the problems they claim to solve.
