ohsu was a bust IN THE SENSE THAT they deny me having dysautonomia at all, not *just* POTS & made a point to irrelevantly note my schizoaffective diagnosis (& no other mental health conditions)... fortunately my PCP is amazing & disagrees w/ them completely bc she's SEEN the symptoms in action
i received a hEDS diagnosis today with the very real possibility of my insurance approving a wheelchair for me + i have autonomic reflex testing at ohsu in a couple weeks to confirm POTS... doctors have been shrugging at my symptoms for YEARS this is so relieving and vindicating!!

here was the setup... it took ~18 minutes per batch of 8 between the prep, drawing, and cutting & i think i printed ~40 cards total? some were lost to misprints or machine error (my cricut sometimes likes to chew on paper, she's a fickle beast)

i can't remember if these were of the same rose bush, but they're definitely of plants and there was a TON of movement which i love

i always find my way back to abstract cyanotypes bc i find shadows a really interesting medium to work with. these are both prints of the same subject: a rose bush in my backyard. both taken at the same time of day (on different days)

printing my own stickers & there is SO much trial and error. pleased w the colors BUT there is some bleeding of the ink which you can rly see in the yellow stickers. my printer is finicky but tomorrow i will fuss w the settings & see what we can do. at least i fixed the tearing issue (mostly)? π΅βπ«

i get sort of stuck in a loop sometimes thinking about how a place can change so much that it's not the same place anymore. especially here, with all the population growth & gentrification. the middle school i attended exists only in my memory, they tore it down & built a new one by the same name.

no matter the outcome of this election: organize, build local community, build strength in masses. elections aren't the only time politics happen, it also happens on the streets, in the community and by mutually supporting each other.
