Today is the day! Record your day and be part of recording queer lives and histories in the UK. Sketch, type, write, or photograph your day. Even if you think your day isn't very interesting we'd still love to have it in our collection! All types of days, boring or brilliant are welcome #LGBTplusHM
We're looking to capture experiences of what it means to be queer in the UK today! To do that we're collecting day diaries for 12th February. It doesn't matter what you get up to, or how you record it, we'd love to have it!🧵 (1/4) #LGBTplusHM #lgbthm26
In 1982, inspired by the work of MO the National Lesbian and Gay survey began, it sought to capture what everyday life was like for queer people living in the UK. For our latest open call we're continuing the work of NLGS and asking what does it mean to be queer every day?

IMPORTANT pls RT

My online novel seed-story.com is loading sporadically/not at all

The servers belonged to Google Creative Labs Sydney (now apparently defunct)

If anyone reading worked there/knows someone who did pls get in touch urgently so this pioneering work of digital literature can be saved

I've been invited by 3 UK universities to speak about Amateurs! and they've all had to withdraw their invites as departmental cuts mean they can't even pay expenses.
"I am writing to ask if you would consider giving the keynote in the evening?"

"Unfortunately, as you probably know, Universities don't pay speaker fees but we would, of course, pay any expenses"

Universities! Don't send freelancers these invites!

PS - I've been paid by many universities.

i'm disgusted that funding for artists will continue to be limited to 2k recipients & awarded by lottery. Award on the basis of need, award on the basis of track record but not this tombola that will leave so many struggling for 3 years b/c of a short straw drawn

a lot of my work over the last 6 years has been 'building AI skills' but the more i know the more i distrust & the less i am 'willing to provide date': what have i been doing wrong?
however, sadly, the paper pitches this as a "trust issue" but people are right now to trust this stuff! Also complete failure to recognise that tools need to be worthy of trust, not that people should give their trust more freely

It's my dream for this book to be on a syllabus. Not too subtly, if you'd like to put it on yours I'd be eternally grateful (& also more than happy to student questions...)

v nice piece - thank you!

I have a reason be in Cambridge in 26/27 and quite fancy applying to this: www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DPW923/c.... I need a letter of support from someone who works at Cambs. If you know anyone who might like to support my work in lit/arts/digital humanities I'd be very grateful for ideas...

lovely visit, sharing fitabillies bun :)
Woke before dawn, scrabbling and biting, dreaming of my werewolfity; walked it off; spent the day in Cambridge with the always thought-provoking @badaude.bsky.social and finally home to find three salmon in the fridge. Will walk *that* off in due course.

ok, it's 'outsource my xmas present to my nephew' time again. rules.
-it's a book.
-the author's alive-i like to give living ppl money
-it's almost certainly indie-published
-you're unlikely to see it in a mainstream bookshop
-nevertheless it's suitable for a smart 13/14 y.o.-it can stretch him too
