brief video of creating the right side of the "hood" during a radical prostatectomy. I isolate the pedicles for ligation from base to apex. Endopelvic fascia is spared. I can adjust how much prostatic fascia (nerves) to spare.

Robotic prostatectomy hood technique pedicle preparation
This video illustrates my technique for developing the right portion of the hood during my nerve sparing and as a way to isolate the pedicles.

Open simple prostatectomy for BPH with a large bladder stone. Our county hospital is missing some equipment required for cystoscopic enucleation and we don’t have a robot, so the residents get to do it old school. Took out a nice classic looking jackstone. Good hemostasis at the end! #urology

Not all barbed sutures are created equal.
Here is a stratafix spiral loosening during a vesicourethral anastomosis. Stratafix symmetric would keep it close, but the barbs are extremely aggressive.
Important to either do a good Rocco or posterior urethral plate sutures. Need to keep tension!
