Gutted for my partner. He has spent the entire holiday doing family stuff, looking after his mom with dementia, having to hang with my mom, and finally gets 2.5 days to himself to relax …and now has a bad round of gastroenteritis. I feel so bad for the guy. Praying also I don’t get it but man

I am west coast. But did the east coast NYC ball drop with my mom who also turns 82 on NY Day. Chugged a couple of fizzy dranks, had some sushi, home by 10:30, perfect and old. I may hate New Year’s but love to you all. May the year usher in more kindness. A fool’s hope, but a hope nonetheless.

Awwwwww I didn’t know they were closing! This place IS truly amazing. My friend was the GM there and I hung with Sebadoh there too. A real rock n’ roll motel for sure. That’s such a bummer, but glad we were able to have the experience there, Wayne! Love to you 🤘🏼
Last go round at the Phoenix Hotel, before they close after New Year’s 😢 So many memories… Special shoutout to Mikala @backstagerider.bsky.social for the suggestion many years ago. Truly a home away from home.

And to pretend it’s just economics keeping us away? How come body talks about that? It’s border BS, safety, racism, attacks on women, children, LGBTQ+,nationalism, politics, policing, budget cuts…the tariffs are actually the least of my worries. The U.S. is for now a garbage place - why would I go?

I - a Gen X goth - went to the East Van Opry last night. Huge talent on stage but these guys were the best because I imagined them actually as Emmett Otter’s Jug Band from The Muppets and that tickled me even more
