Just some tidy work where I think it needs it, Johann platooned in for Gundry in the second half, but I credited the later with a couple of saves ... including a scrambling save that her athleticism really played a part. Both keepers making their case.

Bella Gaetino breaks free in the channel down the left, absorbs a challenge, and is able to get back up with the ball at her feet. Goes for goal instead of looking for the square at a tight angle ... Kate was wide open. 1 to play.

8 to play, Eris Freifeld to the endline tried to chip a delicate ball into a hungry Kate Faasse, but she underhits and the keeper grabs. Never have I seen the weight of the world so thourahly evident on someones shoulders as it has been today on Kate's. God bless her she is exhausted but battling.

UNC fully into their bench now as we approach 12 minutes to play... And Rice nearly pounces right away. A ranged effort on a poor turnover catches Gundry back pedaling a bit, but she still made a great fingertip save. She's had to make two really good, athletic saves for UNC today.

Deserved tally for the freshman, who has easily had one of the best games of the day. Gaetino again makes her case for offense, drives towards the corner, makes a move to beat a double team, and delivers a cross that is either punched or fumbled right to Freifeld, who forces it home from close range

My phone has overheated, but we're in a break anyway as the official has gone to review a possible PK for UNC. Bradley, threatening the endline and moving away from goal, is taken down very hard from behind and is injured. No call was made, but there was so much contact he's decided to look at it.
