Completely agree - spent many a happy hour playing that. That and I think it was called "Brain Box" which was another user contributed game definitely blew a lot of commercial titles out of the water.

That's one way to start the day I guess... having a cup of tea and a shower seems so boring now...
February 3, 2026 at 9:29 AM
Not sure about that... the ampersand in "lots & lots" looks a bit suspicious to me... it could be a fake...

Everything has shifted to the right (think we can blame 2016 for that one). Labour is now pretty much centre right-ish, the Tories seem hell bent on going as far right as possible... ANY party with a sane manifesto and that's centre (or a bit left of centre) would get my vote when it comes time πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Oh wow... are those even a thing these days. Those in a toastie, findus pancakes and pop tarts I'm sure were trying to bump us off :p

I do love a ham and cheese toastie now and then. The major difficulty is getting the amount of time right to wait until it's good to eat. Has to be long enough so it's not going to cause physical injury, but not so long it's too cold and congealed and just not pleasant to eat...

It was a freebie on epic games a few months back...

... or maybe anywhere πŸ˜‚

Sound bloody delicious though - just thinking of those slightly toasted and lots of butter and 🀀

This is f'ing insane... I'd like to have got there one day, but what with life stuff and now age, and osteo stuff, and too much muscle memory in my fingers thinking QWERTY for a long time, never going to happen, but bloody impressed.

Yay the 1,769,817,600 seconds timestamp or something...

If that's actually a real ad then that amount is missing half a dozen zeroes 🀣

Seems a bit odd they're blocking icegov :p

And of course the big one "Income Tax" was only meant to be temporary because of the Napoleonic war (I think) - now that's pretty much the largest chunk of how the government can function. Then throw in VAT, Road Tax, Council Tax, National Insurance... it never ends!

... where it went from Β£11.50 to Β£15. Surprise, surprise, it stayed at Β£15 after COVID and again went up to Β£18 this year!
January 31, 2026 at 2:15 AM
Good luck with that. Look at the Dartford Crossing - it was only supposed to have a toll until it got paid off. Once it was paid off it still remained Β£1 and today it's Β£3.50. And then there's the London Congestion Charge "temporary increase because of COVID"...

Let's go with Gentle Slap Man whose long range attack is hurling a single golf ball at the enemy... (his sidekick Caddyman has to retrieve it for him to reload) - it hurts my brain too much to force it to acknowledge it's Tiger Woods.

Wasn't that guy on the left with the arms growing out his neck in one of the Men In Black films? 😁

That John Travolta Vincent Vega is pretty decent though...

"needs more sausages and less rats"? πŸ˜‚

Impressed though. Congrats!

More than:

10 PRINT "POO!"
20 GOTO 10

I take it... 😜
January 30, 2026 at 5:59 AM
I know it was in the 2.something docs but you'd give it something like: [1,2,3,4,6,7,9,10,12] and you'd get 1-4,6-7,9-10,12-12... which was quite a clever use of groupby...
January 28, 2026 at 8:23 PM
If you haven't and would imagine it's still in the itertools docs under recipes the one that groups numbers into ranges is an interesting one and nice to understand.
January 28, 2026 at 7:25 PM
I don't - I prefer to leave blogging to people who are competent at it such as yourself. Could probably dig up some recipes I have if you want to blog about them.
January 28, 2026 at 7:22 PM
I think you'd just need to forge yourself an iron pickaxe, go mining for redstone, and make the computer out of that? :p
