The Tale of Silyan has won the top prize from the International Documentary Association Awards, who concluded three days of festivities with a ceremony on Saturday evening at the Los Angeles Athletic Club in downtown L.A. and hosted by former Sundance Film Festival director Tabitha Jackson. The North Macedonian film, directed by Tamara Kotevska of the double Oscar-nominated film Honeyland, tells the story of an immigrant who forms a relationship with an injured white stork as he adjusts to life in a new country, won the IDA award for Best Feature Documentary as well as Best Cinematography.

The Palm Springs International Film Awards has announced that Frankenstein is the recipient of the Visionary Award. Expected to attend for the award presentation are director Guillermo del Toro and actors Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi and Mia Goth. The Visionary Award honors a film that breaks boundaries in the art of cinema, and this year marks the first time the accolade will be presented jointly to a director and his cast for their collaboration.

The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) has announced its slate of recipients of lifetime achievement and honorary awards to be given at the group's 40th annual gala on March 8, 2026. Robert Yeoman, ASC will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his enduring impact and visionary contributions. M. David Mullen, ASC will be honored with the Career Achievement in Television Award, celebrating a legacy of excellence across the medium.

The nominations for the 41st Film Independent Spirit Awards have been announced and Ira Sachs' Peter Hujar's Day was at the top of the list with five nominations: Best Feature, Best Director, Best Lead Performance for Ben Whishaw, Best Supporting Performance for Rebecca Hall and Best Cinematography. Whishaw also earned a television nomination for the limited series Black Doves.

Now in its ninth year, the Atlanta Film Critics Circle has announced its awards for top cinematic achievements in 2025 where Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another dominated with seven wins. The 39 voting members of the AFCC chose One Battle After Another as its top film of the year.
