Prom was superb! I can't get over the difference it makes having all the context and detail before hearing it, although the music by itself was sublime too. @auroraorchestra.bsky.social
The Prom tonight was really great btw. On telly tomorrow I think. Do watch. And maybe accompany it with Origin Story podcast on Stalin and Shostakovitch if you want the story in a bit more detail.

I wonder if the members of the @auroraorchestra.bsky.social knew what they signed up for when they first started playing symphonies from memory? This year, not content with learning Shostakovich's 5th by heart, a few of them also performed solos while being lifted up and carried around the stage.
