Kids: start to work on worksheet.
Discover it's mostly weird copy/pasted slop. Directions unclear. Some answers flat out wrong. Unable to actually work the worksheet.

Go back to class, ask teacher what to do.

Teacher: stop asking questions, it's homework, who cares, moving on

Pattern I've seen in school over and over.

Teacher: hands out worksheet as homework for kids to learn a topic for the current unit that they downloaded from the interwebs TeachersPayTeachers

The reason why we collect boxes of cables in the garage of obsolete tech is that capitalism extorts profit from specialized cables so consumers feel they have massive value, when, in reality, they are worthless

Yeah, just avoid the '05-'13 3 Valve Triton V8 that clogs on dirty oil and destroys the engine.

And avoid the tiny turbo engine models.

If I wanted a vehicle where every engineering decision was made to cut mfg costs, I'd buy Ford

Mind you, the 08 pilot told me exactly which tire was low on the dash, and the light went off of the tire was aired up.

So I know they have the tech, but they made a decision to cut costs and abandon it and inconvenience the user.
September 10, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Okay fine, if I add air to all tires will the light go off?
No. The warning light stays on, even if you turn the car off, even if you air up all tires.

What do I do then?
You have to go into the cars settings and hit "TPMS recalibration"

I love Hondas. Have an 08 pilot with 265,000 miles. Beautiful.

We got a 2019 CRV last summer.

Tire Pressure warning came on last night.
Okay fine, which tire is it?
2019 won't tell you since it doesn't actively monitor each tire. It takes a guess based on wheel speed/etc.

Everything built since about 2010 has been across the board crap quality

Had to replace my Honda AGM battery.
$300 for the mid range option.

All just to support the stupid auto-engine shutoff feature we always disable manually

Amazing way to destroy our society:
Make Americans too expensive to employ in any job.
Wall Street Journal today: โ€œU.S. businesses are facing the biggest health-insurance cost increases in at least 15 years, after already-steep boosts in recent years that have pushed the annual expense for family coverage high enough to equal the price of a small car.โ€

Fun fact, a parent with unhealed trauma from their upbringing who listened to James Dobson on the radio in the mornings was advised by her counselor to stop listening to it because it caused even more negative emotions and spiraling

I love how they say "we took shop class out of high schools", but then don't say anything about putting funding in to put shop class back in high schools
