Why did it take so long for Terry Smith to get the ball thrown down the field?

“I didn’t know I was gonna be the head coach Iowa week. I didn’t really know our offense. ... I was a defensive guy that minded my own business. Now that I’m responsible, I can see things from a different lens.”

Terry Smith on how he’d evaluate the job he’s done thus far as interim head coach:

“It took me three weeks to accomplish getting the ball thrown down the field, so I wish I could’ve gotten that done sooner. Obviously we haven’t had victory, so that’s my responsibly. I own that."

This week, Terry Smith gave each player a pencil. The Indiana game was a reminder that they need to keep sharpening that pencil.

"We're going to show a finished product of the pencil -- sharp and ready to write," Smith said.

"Now it's time to write the story,” said DB King Mack.

How much more can this Penn State football team take?

“To be quite honest with you, we’re thinking like what do we need to do? Why?”

“Since our first loss, it just stacked on. I don’t know the solution."

Was King Mack surprised by how Fernando Mendoza kept getting up after taking hit after hit?

"I'm gonna be 100% honest with you. He's a Miami native. I know if we beat him up, it's a dawg mentality being from Miami. I knew he was gonna come ready to fight."

Good for Nick Singleton who has said countless times this year he just wants to do his part to help this team win. Huge day for him.

Things are certainly interesting in State College: Penn State 24, No. 2 Indiana 20 with 6:27 left

Penn State doing everything it can to keep the crowd in this game. Three-point game against the No. 2 team in the country.... buckle up.
