Amazing technology from the 1930's in the Yates Hoist room. These giant pulleys, originally built for the Homestake Mine. The Sanford Lab repurposed them to transport scientists and engineers to build the DUNE Science experiment more than a mile underground via the headframe.(photo 3)

This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen re: city history/digital history resources. 58k photos of properties across Kansas City from a 1940 assessment program.

In 1940, over a period of eight months, more than 58,000 images of Kansas City structures were photographed and assembled as the 1940 Tax Assessment Photograph Collection.

Looks like the evidence for this weird chemical abundance in an exoplanet atmosphere has gotten stronger with new JWST data: www.nytimes.com/2025/04/16/s...

Is it really a sign of life? That’s still not clear; lots of analysis left to do. But it’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out! 🧪 🔭

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever read about and I’m really proud of @stlcitysc.com for being the first MLS & US pro sports team to offer this.

Innovating the accessibility game to the max. #AllForCITY
The beautiful game is for 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 ✨

Last Saturday, St. Louis CITY SC became the first MLS team to test touch2see’s assistive technology for the visually impaired. Just the latest way Energizer Park is making soccer more accessible to ALL fans.

A sample of the first 3D #photogrammetry scan I’ve done as part of my coursework with CyArk and the heritage documentation grant I received.

“Lead with empathy.”
An excellent video out about cryptocurrency scams, and the methods are alarming and lean into social engineering hard.
People are getting taken in subtle ways for lots of money. Absolutely worth a watch.
