@bsky.app can you please have the professional acumen when running a business & a platform to not resort to childish trolling? The other platform and its gaslighting owner already has that in spades.

Tech CEOs in 2025 melting down like toddlers with broken crayons is certainly a thing to watch.
You could try a poster’s strike. I hear that works

This is some dystopian-level shit, and continues to degrade the internet in ways that only tech companies can conjure up with their omnipotent AI fantasies.

And I WORK in TECH.
in my Notepad 📒 newsletter this week, I speak to Microsoft's AI CEO on the future of the browser. Microsoft isn’t building a new AI browser, but it wants Copilot to browse the web for you. Live now for subscribers 👇 www.theverge.com/tech/783795/...

Quietly optimistic, although I do wonder how the current U.S. administration's tarriff policy may affect this. Am also wondering how this could be modeled for Canadian-specific manufacturing. Oh the possibilities for electric vehicles!

It's fun to watch places like Calgary and Edmonton grow, but Toronto continues to lead all growth in not just Canadian cities, but even the U.S.

This city is fast becoming one of the world's most important metro areas, especially in the face of geopolitical change.

This is an excellent interview with (hoepfully) Canada's next Prime Minister. Give it a listen!

Japan, Korea, and China are going to be integral to the EV market in this new geopolitically-shifting world. I hope Canada sees the same potential in letting these vehicles be sold to and built here as well.

This is what an authoritarian surveillance state looks like.

All the more reason for anyone thinking of visiting the U.S. right now to stay away. It's a slippery slope between this and anything they don't like, including DEI, progressive values, and anything critical of the Trump administration.

This is great for us in Toronto and Canada, but incredibly concerning that this level of talent and expertise is leaving the US due to the "deteriorating political situation".

This is history repeating itself ...

Based on recent events at U.S. borders, it's probably time to start removing your online profile from American-based social media platforms.

The bad - Local bee-swallowing greaseball hoodwinks voters into a third term.

The good - Toronto showed no love to bee-eating greaseballs! Well done folks!

"Cuts have no apparent regard for civil society or opportunity costs or long-term strategic thinking. Their targets are Elon Musk’s and Project 2025’s targets. They have found no fraud, just democracy at work. They’re apparently eager to see what happens when it no longer does." Brian Barrett:

@wired.com is quickly becoming a trusted source in the latest developments around the fusion of big tech and the U.S. government, and their spiraling descent into surveillance fascism and anarcho-capitalism.

Keep up the good work, don't let your foot off the gas.

The real foreign interference threat is on your phone
The findings in Justice Marie-Josée Hogue's report confirm what the last few months have made abundantly clear: the problem of foreign interference is far bigger in scope and scale than we dared imagi...

Netflix increased their prices for Canadian subscribers. For the standard plan, with tax, that now eclipses $20 per month.

That's my personal threshold for any streaming service to begin auditing if it's worth it or not. I'm looking at you too, Crave and Disney Plus.

Mr. Rogers famously once said "look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

If you're thinking about ditching #bigtech, the helpers can be:

- open-source;
- users over profits;
- advocate ethics;
- decentralized.

Building community starts with a shift in thinking.

This is a wild read - I didn't realize playlists were such big business, "ghost artists" are thing, and streaming fraud is a hustle.

Here I am like an ostrich with my head in the sand listening to tunes while big drama unfolds all around my music platform of choice.

The truth is coming out on the carbon tax
The truth is no match for an honestly told lie. Witness the disconnect between what we know about the carbon tax in Canada and the way it’s perceived by large swathes of the public.
