Dreams in the Witch House (2023) is an good cross between a point-and-click adventure about stopping a witch and an RPG about staying alive long enough to do it. Most of all, it is a fairly faithful and entertaining adaptation of Lovecraft's story.

Dreams in the Witch House used systems to make me obsess over arcane knowledge to my character's mental and physical detriment, exactly like a Lovecraft protagonist should, instead of just leaning on the horror. I was really impressed.

Our heroes can rent a cabin where they can rest and investigate clues. Here Armitage is reading the Necronomicon, Rice is analyzing a strange slime, and Morgan is outside guarding the cabin. The mechanics are a little similar to those in DitWH.

My talented intern Kusti finished his work on Dunwich Horror last week. He did a lot of grunt work, walk cycles, talking animations etc.

Well I got the worst possible ending in @atombraingames.bsky.social “Dreams in The Witch House” and I gotta say so far it’s an amazing game. My dad grew up with those old point and click games, and in turn used to raise me playing alongside him. So I got a copy for him and he’s loving it too! 10/10
