The fire escape at the Ironmasters is DONE!! It took a lot of cleaning, scraping, priming and painting. Thanks to Brenda and Chris for putting on the finishing touches!!

Since the Appalachian Trail Museum took over management of the Ironmasters Mansion five years ago, we've been working on the deferred maintenance. Our latest project is to power wash, scrape and paint the fire escape. Thanks to volunteers Chris, Bob and Jim for their great work.

100 years ago, a group met to turn into reality the dream of a path from GA to ME. It was the first Appalachian Trail Conference. That name was later given to the A.T.'s steward. Later its name was changed to Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Happy 100th birthday, ATC. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrAG...
