Today my kiddo and I had a fabulously fun Christmas Carol rehearsal followed by a fun and fabulous Macbeth rehearsal.
The only thing more fun than writing is watching your kiddo shine inside a story surrounded by others invested in the same story.

Three chapters were bugging me, so I printed them out. Thought I might eviscerate them. But, in the end, they were better than I thought.
I read one romantic part to my kiddo. I knew I'd get an eye roll and "That's so cheesy!" if I did it well. Happy to report: kiddo delivered!

I think this IS an apt metaphor. AND literally what's happening.
This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.

I know a lot of people who use SNAP. This is a catastrophe.
I lived with my dad when I was very young and he didn’t apply for food stamps or free school lunches, though we qualified.
So, I went hungry. It was awful. I begged neighbors for saltine crackers. I can say it was the worst time of my life.
Children shouldn’t go hungry. Restore SNAP benefits.

I know a lot of people who use SNAP. This is a catastrophe.
One of the perks of working on a production of Macbeth with your kiddo is that sometimes said kiddo coaxes you to indulge in a little post-rehearsal hot chocolate. ☕🎉🥰

Selkie understands complex systems, like how to open the treats can. So, she's like my MC's BFF. 🍃
Pepper's on a mission of love. Like my LI. 💘🏹
