This is why I say Community Notes is the best thing we've got for social media, and we definitely need it here on Bluesky. It's better than hiring a company for fact-checking.

Government-funded media is dangerous. We've seen it happen here in India with the rise of Godi Media, and now it's unfolding in the West. Media houses like BBC, NYT, Politico, and others are receiving funding from bodies like USAID. Independent journalism funded by the common people is what we need!
