#JuTan Tan Zongyi realises she faces a crushing defeat at the hands of Ju Wenjun in their world championship match. A draw in game 9 means that Ju wins 6.5-2.5 with 3 rounds to go. Tan had a wonderful 2024, winning the candidates tournament convincingly, as well as the elite Cairns Cup.

Rook and pawn endgame + time trouble = danger for Alice’s opponent. In a lost game, she hung on, saved the mating threats & kept finding the best move until Tatev finally chose wrong. I’ve seen her do this many times. In Matrix terms, her opponent sees the code. Alice sees the woman in the red dress
