On Backcasting So many vested interests, so many points of view, it’s hard to get agreement on what we ought to do. Progress gets more difficult as things get more complex, we get bogged down, we can’t agree on what we might do next. Instead of solving problems, we need to look ahead far enough that everyone involved right now is dead. And if we jointly understand the kind of world we need finding our way forward is more likely to succeed.
