California remains on the front lines fighting against Trump's attacks on Planned Parenthood, no thanks to Trump’s big ugly bill.

Governor Gavin Newsom has signed legislation delivering $90 million to support Planned Parenthood and protect access to essential health services across our state.

Dr. King once remarked that “…[h]ate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Let’s celebrate Black History Month by embracing and promoting love in our communities. (2/2)
February 10, 2026 at 12:52 AM
As we observe Black History Month, it remains painfully clear we have much more work to do to educate and root out bigotry in our society.

The racist social media post shared by Donald Trump’s White House underscore the need to call out prejudice wherever and whenever we see it. (1/2)

We must ensure that the federal budget does not include expanded resources for ICE operations in our communities. If that means we have to shut it down…then shut it down.

I appreciate the opportunity to join my colleagues in a "Legislating the Future: A Dialogue with New Leaders" panel hosted by CA Municipal Utilities Association (CMUA). It was a productive day of learning, connection & collaboration across California's water, energy & wastewater communities.

Trump & Republicans are gutting Medicaid & ACA subsidies to fund billionaire tax breaks & ICE — putting hospitals & working families at risk. H.R. 1 cuts $900B from Medicaid and strips coverage from 10M people. At Glendale Memorial, ~80% rely on Medicaid or Medicare — these cuts threaten its future.
