CA Assemblymember, proudly representing #AD23 in San Mateo & Santa Clara Counties
Honored to be one of TURN’s 2025 Legislative Champions for my work to prevent IOUs like PG&E from using your hard earned money for political lobbying and PR campaigns.

This year, I look forward to building upon our success to create a more affordable & sustainable CA for all.

It was uplifting to talk to the San Mateo County Youth Commission Civic Cafe yesterday. Their concern for others and for our democracy, their moral clarity, and their insistence that we must do more to push back against those who abuse power was truly inspiring. The future is bright!

Today on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the memory of the six million Jewish people and the millions of others who were systematically murdered in the Holocaust. (1/2)

A wonderful and historic night celebrating the swearing in of Santa Clara County Assessor Neysa Fligor, the first woman of color and first mom elected to a countywide leadership position in Santa Clara County!

I had my first serious talk with my six month old boy, Kaiden, on our walk this afternoon. May he grow up to have the same courage and moral clarity that Renee Good and Alex Pretti had to protect the vulnerable and stand up to the abuses of the powerful.

Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse. He is the second American citizen senselessly murdered by untrained, unneeded, unaccountable, unidentified government thugs who are terrorizing a U.S. city. He was legally monitoring government activity. He was legally carrying a firearm.

What an inspiring morning celebrating MLK Jr Day in San Jose with a tree planting with over 100 volunteers at Rainbow Park and volunteering at the community garden at Latimer School with dozens of students and parents. As MLK taught us, everyone can be great because everyone can serve.

Yesterday was one of the most special days in my 9+ years in the legislature, as I got to watch my dear friend Monique Limón get sworn in as the 50th President pro Tempore of the State Senate and the first mom and woman of color to hold the position. (1/3)

Wishing everyone in AD23 and across California a Happy New Year! While 2025 was a bit rough at times, I’m proud of the progress we made lowering utility bills, protecting consumers, strengthening worker rights, and improving our democracy.

Wishing a meaningful and happy Kwanzaa to all celebrating in my district and throughout California. May your week be filled with connection, reflection, and celebration! 🕯️

Today marks the first night of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights that reminds us of the power of hope and the resilience of the Jewish community. Wishing you all a celebration filled with peace, light, and courage during what might feel like dark and scary times. 🕎✨

The antisemitic terror attack on a peaceful crowd of Jews celebrating the first night of Hanukkah in Australia is horrific, heartbreaking, and totally predictable.

Thank you to the Santa Clara County Aging & Adult Services Senior’s Agenda for welcoming me to this year’s summit. To create a more equitable California, we must implement and develop systems that help everyone thrive from childhood through their older years. (1/2)

Team Berman had a chance to volunteer with Community Services Agency at their regular Monday food giveaway.

Everyone went home with loads of fresh veggies and other groceries, as well as a chicken, turkey, or ham for the holiday. (1/2)

What a great morning in Saratoga! This was my 5th community coffee of 2025, and I’m always impressed to see so many community members show up! From wildfire mitigation to utility rates to supporting community college students, I love hearing directly from my constituents about what they care about.

As we enter the holiday season, charitable organizations and nonprofits are often lifelines to friends and neighbors in our communities who are struggling. (1/3)

15 years ago I had the chance to serve on the City of Palo Alto’s Infrastructure Blue Ribbon Commission, and our top recommendation was to build a new, seismically safe Public Safety Building.

Yesterday the community got to celebrate the building’s grand opening. (1/2)

I was truly humbled to attend the San Mateo County Veterans Luncheon, honoring the brave men and women who have fought for our freedoms.

It was inspiring to hear from five WWII veterans, one of whom was only 19 years old when he fought in D-Day. (1/2)

Our right to live in a free democracy is something we should never take for granted.

Today, and every day, we honor the brave men and women who stood tall for our freedom. Thank you to all our veterans.

Trump’s blatant lie about the validity of our election and CA’s use of vote-by-mail is simply un-American.

I am proud to have written the law to make California a universal vote-by-mail state, and Trump's attempts to sow doubt in our voting system is dangerous to democracy — just like him.
