The Sheriff’s National Night Out Trick or Treat in Bakersfield was all treats and no tricks! It was great to see families, neighbors, and law enforcement come together in costume and in spirit. Thank you to our Sheriff’s Office for keeping our community connected and protected year-round.

Proud to announce that the Governor has signed my bill, AB1094, into law. This legislation increases penalties for caregivers convicted of torturing a child under the age of 14 aligning the penalty with the gravity of the crime and the victim’s vulnerability.

Proud to announce the Governor has signed my bill, AB1069. As a volunteer physician during natural disasters and Aging and Long-Term Care Chair, I have seen the need to improve evacuations for seniors. AB1069 improves California’s emergency response and better protects aging and disabled people.
