“We know that black men are at a higher risk of getting prostate cancer, but this new data…shows that if you’re black, the odds are currently stacked even higher against you.”

Another preventable and unfair health inequality perpetuated, in part, by outdated guidance.

It’s extraordinary that it’s easier to get the victims of structural racism to shout louder than address the cause of their unequal treatment. When it comes to health inequalities, racism can be the difference between life and death.

Important insights from @jrf-uk.bsky.social on link between ethnicity and deep poverty.

From a health context we know that living in persistent poverty has a cumulative impact on and contributes to unfair and avoidable differences in health.

It’s critical that boards remain curious about the data that is presented to them. Only by asking the right questions will they be assured that their data is accurately representing the true
experience of staff within their organisations. #RaceEquality

❓What actions have you taken to demonstrate active white allyship?

❓For those from an ethnic minority background - what are the actions that you want to see/ would find most impactful? from white allies?

community in a new, more positive space. The old one had begun to give me anxiety thanks to the trolls but the connections I’d built over the years meant to much for me to move away. Hello old friends and new!
