Japan: Komeito (Centre-right) leader Tetsuo Saito has conveyed his intention to LDP (Conservative) President Sanae Takaichi that Komeito will end its coalition with the LDP.

This is the first time in nearly thirty years the LDP will be without a coalition partner.

Japan: Sanae Takaichi has won the Liberal Democratic Party (Conservative) leadership election. Her nomination for Prime Minister will be voted on in an extraordinary session of the Diet in mid-October.

Japan: Sanae Takaichi and Shinjiro Koizumi have advanced to a run-off for the Liberal Democratic Party (Conservative) Presidential election. Sanae Takaichi took 183 points, Shinjiro Koizumi won 164, and Yoshimasa Hayashi won 134. The rest were split between Takayuki Kobayashi and Toshimitsu Motegi.

Anutin (BJT, Conservative): 311
Chaikasem (PT, Centre-right): 152
Abstain: 27
Absent: 0

With more than 247 votes in favour, Anutin Charnvirakul will become Thailand's next Prime Minister.

Thailand: KT (Centre-right) has announced that they will support BJT (Conservative) in the next Prime Minister vote.

With KT leaving, the coalition led by PT (Centre-right) has lost the majority in the House.

Thailand: The Constitutional Court has found Paetongtarn Shinawatra (PT, Centre-right) guilty in her disqualification case, and will have the premiership terminated.

The cabinet is dissolved and a vote for a new Prime Minister will be held.
