Thousands in Cape Town marched yesterday calling for justice for the rape of a 7-year-old. The child was raped in October last year in the Eastern Cape.

Hundreds of University of Cape Town #UCT students in #SouthAfrica protested against financial exclusion, student debt, and accommodation issues. Some blocked campus entrances and disrupted lectures.

“The Sea is in our Blood,” curated by Traci Kwaai, honours Kalk Bay’s fishing families. Many families were forcibly removed during apartheid’s Group Areas. Today, only a few remain, as #KalkBay in #CapeTown has become a gentrified area.

A story I recently did for @groundup.org.za. This new Early Childhood Development (ECD) center is being built in Heideveld, Cape Town, using 5,000 recycled tyres and other waste materials. The project also trains workers in eco-friendly construction.

I recently visited this incredible early childhood development (ECD) centre in Heideveld in Cape Town. Learning that you can build with tyres, mud and bottles was incredible.
