Ikhlās - Sincerity

Imām Rabbani رحمه الله:

The people of Allāh [sufi masters] are physicians of the diseases of the heart. The turning of the face of these masters heals the diseases of the inner realm. Their speech is medicine and their gaze (nazar) heals diseases.

📖 - Maktubat Imam Rabbani

Imām an-Nawawī رحمه الله:

"The ulama are unanimous that it is harām to give a man a nickname which he dislikes, even if it relates to a characteristic of his."

📖 - Kitab al-Adhkar

al-Imām al-Ghazālī mentions 8 qualities to look for in a wife for a happy marriage:

1) Piety (religious)
2) Good character
3) Beauty
4) A small dowry
5) Childbearing
6) Virginity
7) Good lineage
8) Not a close relative

📖 - Iḥyāʾ ʿulūm al-dīn

al-Imām al-Ghazālī رحمه الله:

“The purpose of ʿIlm al-Kalām is the preservation of the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah from the disruption of deviants.”

📖 - al-Munqidh min al-ḍalāl

When one of al-Imām al-Shāfiʿī’s sons died, he composed these lines:

“Fate is ever thus, so endure it: the loss of wealth, and parting from loved ones.”

al-Imām al-Nawawī رحمه الله said:

“Nothing is like Him [Allāh], He is free from body, displacement, location in one direction and all other characteristics of creatures.”

📖 - Sharḥ Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim

al-Ḥāfiz Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī رحمه الله said:

“Allāh is exempt from being incarnated in places, indeed, Allāh has existed from all eternity before places came into existence.”

📖 - Related by al-Sakhāwī in al-Maqāṣid al-ḥasanah

Qāḍī ʿIyāḍ al-Mālikī رحمه الله said:

“There is no dispute that the place of His (The Prophet ﷺ) grave is the best place on Earth.”

📖 - al-Shifāʾ

al-Imām al-Rāzī رحمه الله said:

“It is unanimously confirmed that Allāh is not with us in a place, nor a direction, nor in a space.”
