Like everything else, chance and coincidence.

There is no fate, there is no destiny

Unfortunate and tragic, for no good reason.

Some people just wanted to play a game, others got caught in the middle.

And the select few were targeted for petty reasons.
How exactly do X's victims get inside the game/find it and does X choose his victims? Or is it just random chance that they come across evil sonic game? (I am not caught up with most stuff so I apologize if this question does not make sense or if it was already answered before.)

That's a good question

Initially I wanted them to have voices, and some of them still will have voices.

But there are cases where these kinds of vessels do indeed lack a voice.

For instance, I wanted to give Bark lines for the Yokubo comic. Though Raven suggested I make him mute, and I liked it.
We know that in X’s world, a soul’s voice is determined by the character of the vessel they’re stuck in. But what happens if the vessel doesn’t actually have a voice? (Like Trip, Bark, Fang, or Metal.) Would that mean they’re just completely unable to speak?
