Project Hail Mary was a rare example of a modern sci-fi that I found extremely compelling. The narration sometimes gets a bit too detail-oriented and some moments pushed against my willing suspension of disbelief, but there is a really beautiful, very thematically rich human story here:

Legends and Lattes was a slow, cozy coffee shop adventure in a D&D-esque fantasy world with minimal stakes and some very charming moments. It won me over even if I didn't necessarily feel particularly 'gripped':
