The doll I made a year ago, and the doll I made to tonight! It just took me finding the right materials and experimenting and I finally did it 😭 a life goal accomplished 🥹 now to work on how to sew better clothes and make shoes!

I’m finding so much comfort in doll making 💜 I finished the lovely lilac one last night, and I’m so so so happy with how she turned out!

My second cloth doll 🩷 I used a mix of painting and embroidery for her face, and her body and dress are made from a vintage pillow case. I’ve wanted to make dolls for years, but I’m so bad at sewing! So this is a big accomplishment for me and I love her so much 🥰🩷

Generative ai has me very worried for the future 😔 I just don’t know if I’m going to be able to keep making enough money to live off of my art. But, I’m trying very hard not to panic and take a little bit of time to learn how to do something I’ve always wanted to do, doll making!

My desk now 💕 I’m sure I’ll get back to painting soon, but diving into a new craft and trying to understand how it works is helping my mental health sooo much right now, it’s something to focus on besides the news. Tomorrow I will figure out her hairstyle and give her some clothes!

My second needle felted doll! She ended up being less baby doll than the first one, although I don’t really know why. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed about trying to figure out how to make clothes that aren’t felted to the body, so for now I’m just sticking to the fauns who don’t need any clothes 🥰

I decided to try needle felting and I love it so much 🥹 I’ve always wanted to make dolls, but I hate sewing, so needle felting is perfect! I love her sooooo much 😭💕 this is my first ever doll, so it’s not perfect but I can’t stop looking at her!

I painted today, and I recorded the entire process in a time-lapse video! It still feels very unnatural to be aware of the camera while I paint, it definitely doesn’t feel as therapeutic as when I paint freely, but I’m excited that I’ll now have a video to post on my YouTube next week! 💕

I haven’t been able to make any art lately, my anxiety from the election results has been so high, it’s kept me from being able to go to a creative place. Today I made myself go to my desk and just pick something out of my pile of drawings and just paint it! I actually really like it 🩵
