The Joys of Motherhood by Buchi Emecheta.

a powerful novel that explores themes of motherhood, colonialism, and societal expectations in Nigeria. The title itself is deeply ironic, as the protagonist, Nnu Ego, experiences more struggles than actual joy in her role as a mother.
