Manga recommendation #37: Akumetsu by Yoshiaki Tabata.

Japan's national debt has passed an astounding 700 trillion mark while lobbyists and consultants are using taxes and the national budget to.. uhhh.. yeah. It's a very on-the-nose series but great fun and full of anti-capitalist rage.

Figured I'd give this a spin again.

Manga recommendation #36: Vinland Saga by Makoto Yukimura.

A historical drama and an incredible coming-of-age story, largely centered around atonement and forgiveness set during some of the direst times in European history. The story is complete as of this week.

I'm really enjoying Stanisław Lem after somehow avoiding his work all my life. Star Diaries got me by the balls from the first chapter alone. Great shit

Thursday Murder Club was very nice. Highly recommended for Christie fans in particular. General impression is somewhere along the lines of "what if Miss Marple split into 4 people, each twice as active as she was". Starting book #2 on the weekend. #books #literature #sugarfreelollipopassblast
