The #MayanRevival Aztec Hotel in #Monrovia , #california along Route 66, yes, the same one Bobby Troop & Depeche Mode implored us to get our kicks on. It hasn’t been operating as a hotel for about 20 years, but it’s not abandoned: there is a bar & grill and barber shop up in the front.📸:me/2016

San Francisco Maritime Museum. #SanFrancisco #Calfornia #ArtDeco #WPA #NewDeal 📸:me/02/2025 What blew me away was that the much of the 'squiggly' artwork was by African-American Sargent Claude Johnson since it was not a style of his I was familiar with, but I love it, nonetheless.

1951, so I guess not *technically* #ArtDeco, but I get no International Style vibes off this, either. Originally the Niles & Moser Cigar Company occupied this building from 1951 through 1968. #Denver, #Colorado in the #GoldenTriangle Neighborhood. 📸:me/10/23/2025 Glad they didn't tear it down.
