For the month of November, my Palmer Water Tower painting (one of my favorites!) will be on display at Blaine's Art Supply in Anchorage as part of their watercolor exhibit. I'll be there on Saturday the 8th between 4 and 5pm for their reception. Come by and say hello!

Our journey through the wilderness continues with much of the tree line filled in (one of the more time intensive aspects) and our wildlife blocked in, just to get a sense of shape and where our friend is going to hang out.

The middle section of this painting is more challenging, and time consuming. The tree line stretches from left to right, across the whole painting, and it's close enough to the viewer to require a fair amount of detail. So, a lot of work but it's also starting to look like a landscape!

With this painting, as with most other paintings, I started with the sky and the clouds, then moved on to the basic shape of the peak sticking up through the clouds.
