The situation in the Arakan State remains volatile. The AA and the Myanmar military have systematically displaced the Rohingya population. Many Rohingya are now stranded in Buthidaung, where they lack access to essential rations. The future looks bleak for the Rohingya in this region.

On Nov 10, 2024, a boat carrying 180 Rohingya from Thamee Hla village in Buthidaung capsized off the coast near Hai Gyi Island in the Ayeyarwaddy Region.
Tragically, out of the 180 individuals on board, 174 lost their lives, leaving only six survivors (4 men and 2 women).
