Black maternal mortality rate is so high in America and needs to be talked about more. Often times, the concerns of black female patients are dismissed by a lot of white nurses and doctors. Nonblack nurses and doctors are also guilty of not listening to black women.

It takes a lot of strength to walk away from a relationship. A lot of people rather be miserable in a relationship than be alone. It took me a while to realize that it’s honestly not worth it. I rather enjoy my own company than have a man draining me.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned this year is to stop over explaining myself to people who are committed to misunderstanding me.

My job offered me low census. Lc is when we have more nurses than we need and they down staff a couple people. It goes by 4 hour blocks. From 7p-11p, they don’t need me to come in. However, if they need to come in at 11p or 3 a, I have to come in. I’m hoping I get the whole night off.
