Thanks @markavery.bsky.social - this time for publishing The Great Beaver Betrayal - my article on the Glen Affric beaver saga. As criticism mounts @naturescot.bsky.social must explain its decisions & rebuild relationships with conservation. @iolowilliams.bsky.social @raptorpersuk.bsky.social

Tom Bowser of @argatyredkites.bsky.social sounds off about an unexplained delay in licensing a beaver release.
The restoration of our depleted fauna is hardly going to happen while regulators like @naturescot.bsky.social appear to dither, delay and prevaricate.

Glen Affric is ready for beavers. Why isn’t @NatureScot ?

The question on everyone’s lips as nature agency defies local community & stalls historic reintroduction.

Why is democracy being so blatantly defied?

“A thought provoking and inspiring account of one man’s efforts to further the interests of beavers in Scotland. This book makes a significant contribution to an important discussion of what natural Scotland should be.”

Our nature agency @naturescot.bsky.social is failing Scotland's people and wildlife.

Tom Bowser @argatyredkites.bsky.social calls out NatureScot for stalling beaver reintroductions:

So pleased to unveil the cover of my new book Waters of Life: Fighting for Scotland’s Beavers.
It tells the story of beavers in Scotland & our attempts to spare them a death sentence by relocating them to the safety of our farm.

With all this talk of beavers, here’s a reminder that @argatyredkites.bsky.social have carefully reintroduced some onto their land in Perthshire. It’s very easy to visit, have a look at them and learn about their impact on biodiversity.

Major news: UK government pledges support for wild beaver reintroductions in England! Well done to all of those who’ve fought so hard for so long to make this happen.

🦸‍♂️ Not all fencers carry swords.
💪 Heroic team efforts this week to get the last of our #NatureRestorationFund riparian action zones fenced off.
🌳 These fences will keep livestock back from the Argaty Burn, keeping the water clean, banks stable and allowing our newly planted trees to grow.
