After her husband’s death, she gave away her wealth and founded a hospital where she personally cared for the suffering. Her life reminds us that true nobility is found in love and service.

This #BlackCatholicHistoryMonth, we honor Venerable Pierre Toussaint—born into slavery, he became a beacon of faith and charity in New York City.

He is the only lay person buried in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a lasting witness to his holiness and service.

Today we celebrate St Frances Xavier Cabrini! The first U.S. citizen canonized & an Italian immigrant who shaped NY history. She founded schools, hospitals, & orphanages for immigrant families, bringing hope to those far from home.
